What does "Programmable" mean?

Today's technology has allowed hearing instrument engineers to develop a
microchip that, along with the circuit itself, allows the instrument to be
digitally programmed with up to three different "situation" setting or
"memories."

Unlike traditional non-programmable instruments, they offer the user a wide
range of adjustments. Your hearing health professional will fine-tune the
instruments according to your specific needs. The instruments will then
automatically adjust to changes in your environment.

Unlike other hearing instrument models that basically amplify sounds, this new
sound processing technology, with more control options and flexibility, allows
your hearing health professional to obtain a higher degree of precision in
fitting your individual loss. Now, he or she can target the exact amount of
amplification you require better than ever before.

How do I Program it?

These advanced technology instruments are digitally programmed ONLY by your
hearing health Professional. NO programming is required on your part.

Programmable are truly revolutionary circuits with more functions and control
features than were previously available. You, today's sophisticated customer,
can now enjoy this versatility.

  • Provide extremely low distortion of sound
  • Available in all custom models and BTE's
  • Allow input over sound comparisons during the fitting process
  • Sophisticated, technologically comprehensive programmable hearing instruments
  • that offer flexibility in fine-tuning

Digital

Digital technology has enhanced people's lives in many ways. In the area of
hearing instrument sound processing, digital hearing instruments provide low
distortion, clean, high-fidelity amplification, and tailoring options that fit
precise hearing requirements. They also provide the patient flexibilty to
adjust their prescription should their individual needs change. The
discriminating choice is a 100% digital, dual channel hearing instrument.

Using advanced sound processing technology, it balances the wide range of
sounds found in everyday life. Soft sounds can be heard, average sounds are
comfortable, and loud sounds are loud, but not uncomfortable. It automatically
adjusts to make the listening environment a more secure, welcoming place for
those with a hearing loss.

How digital signal processing technology works. A computer chip in the
instrument analyzes incoming sound waves and converts them into digital signal
(1's and 0's). The digitized numbers are modified according to algorithm
instructions in an effort to reduce background noise while amplifying the sound
patterns of speech. The signal is then reconverted to sound waves and high
fidelity sound.

  • Fully automatic volume control
  • Reduced noise and distortion
  • Flexibility
  • Easy fit
  • Optional multiple memory
